Online booking and organizing the van pickup was a super easy. I was able to send an email and coordinate through whatsapp to have the van meet me at the bus terminal an hour ahead of schedule which was super appreciated.

The van was a 2004 Nissan Elgrand which has definitely seen better days and had no AUX cable port but for the purpose of a rental for my first time driving in this country, having a vehicle with a few dings made driving around less stressful. I think the timing belt on the vehicle was on its way out though, it was quite loud. We were able to use the van with 7 people and all our gear with 4 skis on the roof and the remaining skis under the seats in the van. Very easy drop off at the end of the rental as well.

Overall a good rental experience and will be recommending to my friends who plan on skiing in Hakuba!

Edit. I check whatapps to find a message that the car will be delayed. Whatapps blocked the unknown message. Note to all to check your whatapps instead. Ended up getting the car at 10am and they offered to let me return slightly later without paying any extra fee.

Went to pick up point (eco land) at 8am but no one in sight. No rental car. Just snow. (Apparently there is a sign but because of the snow storm, it was covered. ) Called the phone number on the website. Nobody picked up. (They mentioned it will be updated) Checked my email, no avail. Just confirmation of our booking. A future contact number would be great.

Rented for one day to do some side trip to break up our snow days. Easily located near our hotel, the staff was waiting for me on site in the carpark, friendly and on time. Super easy process for both pick up and return. It’s slightly strange to rent a car without a physical building but it worked very well, paper works were done on a phone inside the car. We had a great time aided by the ability to drive to specific locations. Highly recommended.

Rented a Nissan Serena, came equip with everything you will need for winter.

Snow tyres, snow brush / broom, snowboard mount x2 above the vehicle.

I will definitely be renting a vehicle from KIBEJE when I'm back at Hakuba.

Amazing, smooth and fuss free renting our car from Kibeje! It was a seamless end to end process from the online booking, to getting our car delivered straight to us upon arrival and returning the car at the train station when we were leaving Hakuba. Not to mention the great and friendly service from the staff! Our Nissan X-trail served us very well, 💯 recommend!

Comprehensive insurance is at additional cost of 2000¥ per day, which is typical and the norm for car rentals. Would suggest to add-on just in case!

The process to book was easy but I felt like more and more money was asked of me at every step.
A Nissan X-trail was 12000¥/day.
I only needed it for one day so they asked me for 4000¥ more as I am only taking it for one day. The reason given was peak season, cleaning etc. It should just be a set standard price rather than add-ons. It comes across punitive.
When I went to pick it up, comprehensive insurance is not included so it’s another 2000¥ you will have to pay.
The pick-up location is not the same as the office address advertised so you will have to take the Hakuba Valley bus to the Happo-One Bus Terminal.
When you return the vehicle, you will have to fill the petrol back to the top like standard.
The five star thing about this company is that we requested it to be picked up from our accomodation and that was a life saver because it gets cold and dark quickly in the winter. The staff are lovely people too.
I do recommend the company to others. It is already fitted with snow tyres and roof racks. A snow brush/wiper is in the boot. The car is perfect for those wanting to drive to the slopes.

Nearest Car rental to Hakuba Base Camp, where my bus dropped us off from Narita Airport. Picked this car rental so that I could drop off my bags on the last day before returning the vehicle. Booked their vehicle online. It was a simple and basic process, without the need for credit card details or long winded signup particulars. Just a simple email reply on the date of rental and the vehicle selected. The Elgrand MPV I selected had ski racks on and was able to carry our 4 snowboards. Ben was kind enough to arrange drop it off at our hotel about 1 km away and all the paperwork was done in our lobby with a mobile phone camera . On the last day, which was a Sunday (their office is closed) I drove it to the Hakuba Base Camp to drop off our bags at the bus station and Kibeje arranged for a driver to pickup the MPV at Hakuba Base Camp. Great service, smooth and simple rental process and great flexibility. Thanks Kibeje.. highly recommended!

Friendly, affordable and fuss free. I really enjoyed my rental experience with Kibeje Car Rentals. They are located conveniently at Echoland and they also offer drop off and pick up service which is really good service!
